Culinary Tourism and the Arts

Tuition:

  • Cost to participant – $250 + HST for qualified participants
  • Savings – $749 (subsidies from BICT and provincial governments)
  • Workshop costs – $999

10% reduction for communities sending more than four people

Workshop Tuition Fees include:

  • A stimulating interactive 2.5 day cultural tourism learning experience
  • A “Living Lab” with best practice examples and tools
  • Experts in the cultural tourism field
  • Access to a network of cultural tourism professionals
  • Workshop manual
  • Meals: 3 lunches, 2 dinners, nutrition breaks and opening reception
  • Entertainment
  • Tips for implementation and success for your own region or community
  • Aftercare: follow-up consultation (30 minutes) with workshop leader

Subsidy information

Subsidies covering 50% of eligible expenses (tuition, accommodation, transportation and meals) up to a maximum of $1500 are available to qualified participants of BICT programs.

Please note participants are expected to pay registration costs up front and be reimbursed following completion of courses.

In order to qualify for the assistance offered by BICT, tourism establishments need to meet the following basic criteria:

  • company and participants must be operational in Atlantic Canada
  • companies/organizations must be in operation for at least 2 years
  • participants must be at management level of operation (frontline staff are not generally eligible)
  • Provincial and federal employees DO NOT qualify for the assistance program

Some Atlantic province Tourism departments are assisting with BICT program funding. Please contact your provincial contact for information about their specific funding program and qualifying criteria:

The BICT travel claim form will be used to credit you for 50% of your expenses for tuition, travel, accommodations and meals incurred to a maximum of $1500.
