The Bonavista Institute for Cultural Tourism (BICT) was established to assist tourism operators and cultural providers in delivering world-class cultural experiences to visitors to Atlantic Canada.

Spearheaded by the Bonavista campus of the College of the North Atlantic and supported by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Tourism Atlantic and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Bonavista Institute for Cultural Tourism will draw on the wealth of local cultural resources to develop and deliver executive-level training based on the needs of this developing industry.

The Bonavista Peninsula is recognized provincially for its strength in the cultural tourism industry and is home to a diverse collection of heritage resources. It provides a natural setting for the provision of leadership and training to this developing industry.

It is a leading-edge centre for professional development in the cultural tourism sector in Atlantic Canada.
